Our Principal, Mark Richter, is a richly experienced software industry executive who has continuously maintained a hands-on role in development. Mark's background includes
- leadership of the development team that pioneered online digital distribution of video games to an 8-figure business with Direct2Drive.com (IGN Entertainment).
- creation of SchoolWays, the first QuickBooks-integrated application for private schools for managing student invoicing, customer relationships and class scheduling (Lyric Software),
- leadership of the team that brought code generation to UML sequence diagramming to support transaction level test scripting for enterprise applications (Rational Software),
- leadership of the team that created and packaged the first Oracle RDBMS to be sold in the retail channel, Oracle Workgroup Server (Oracle Corporation),
- leadership of the team that built the first LAN-based client-server application development platform for what became Microsoft SQL Server (Ashton-Tate),
- leadership of the development of MIS systems for the US military and defense contracting including amazing spacial queries of parts hierarchies for aircraft and other large assemblies (General Dynamics and TRW),
- high-capacity transaction processing systems and OLTP systems software (NCR),
Recent technical work:
- implementation of a Sarbanes-Oxley-compliant work flow using TFS work items,
- implementation of a PCI-compliant system architecture for retail e-commerce,
- evolution of TFS use through conventional SDLC and agile development methods including Scrum,
- administration of the TFS system serving over 100 users through upgrades from 2005 to 2008 and 2010 with several hardware migrations,
- deployment and administration of a SharePoint intranet used by hundreds of people, upgraded from SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to MOSS 2007,
- pioneered and drove the use of TFS to support agile development using Microsoft's agile template and ScrumForTeamSystem
